Most Complimented

La Vie Est Belle Perfume by Lancome Paris
My La Vie Est Belle
I've had this perfume for about six months and almost every time I wear it, I receive a compliment on it.  Ladies always ask what it is and I can never tell them because I never really know the names of the perfumes I own.  The only one that I can readily recall is Issey Miyake's  'L'Eau d'Issey' which is and has been my absolute favorite scent.  I rarely purchase perfumes for myself as it tends to be a very common gift within my family.  My new favorite scent, La Vie Este Belle was a gift from my favorite man.  He complimented me on the scent after I tried on my mom's La Vie Est Belle and shortly after that, he surprised me by getting me my own bottle of the perfume.  It's a fresh, yet bold scent.  I was recently reading a magazine and noticed that they accurately labeled the perfume, "most complimented".  I couldn't agree more!  This could be a great Mother's Day present if some of you are still looking for a gift for the most special lady in your life.

Bedroom Entryway

If I had all the time in the world, I would probably offer to decorate all of my friends' and families' homes.  My mom lets me decorate and organize her home.  I find it to be such a calming activity.  This is a small corner on one of my IKEA shelves in my room.  The three white tins were a great find at IKEA.  I keep change in one, buttons from new clothes in another and clothing receipts in the larger one.  This corner is right by door so it's nice to have some of my sunglasses handy in addition to the small ceramic bowl which is a good place to put my keys in.  The mini ceramic bowl is a party of a small collection of handmade ceramic art that I brought back with me from Spain.  There is a blue pomegranate on most of the items since they are from Granada (small Andalucian city in souther Spain, which means pomegranate).  The gold vintage bag is just there to look pretty and the Kate Spade style book is there to remind me to keep an eye on what I look like when I step out of my apartment, although the demands of law school has limited my 'style' to jeans and a top with comfortable shoes.

New Year; New Blog

One of my goals for 2013 was to start journaling again.  Unfortunately, writing notes, case briefs and other law school assignments got in the way.  Since I couldn't stick to this goal for 2013, I made it a priority and a goal of mine again for the Persian New Year.  I feel lucky to be able to make two sets of new year resolutions.  My list for the Persian New Year is usually the same list I made in January with a few new goals.  I guess it is pretty common not to stick to New Year resolutions.  I am actually pretty good at following through with mine.  I keep my list minimal and practical.  One of my goals for 2013 was to be more proactive about spending time with my family.  I absolutely love my family however, lately it has been hard to act on that live thanks to the demanding schedule of law school.  Time management is an essential and I believe that we can make time for anything.  I've been pretty good at making time for my family which has made me and them very happy.

Starting and continuing this blog will earn me the right to put a checkmark next to my goal of journaling again.  More importantly, I will be able to maintain a balanced life despite the demands of law school.  I hope to use this blog as an accountability tool for me to continue my other passions but of course, law school will keep its place as a very high priority item.
